The call at my window,
Neither soft, nor gentle,
Roused me from my slumber!
What’s that ?
I wonder.
And just like that,
My window does open.
Such gumption!
And treads in the Monsoon!
A blast strong and cold,
Running around my room-
Knocking books off shelves,
Scattering things and gloom!
Hey!Stop that!
I yell, even though
My laughter I can barely quell!
The clouds drift in
Soft and wet and languid
Their moisture barely contained.
Shoo! Shoo!
Out in the garden-
That’s where you belong
Go do your thing
Rain, pour,entertain!
Run in the Rain
It’s dark outside
But I am ready inside
Dry, yet prepared
For, the best part of the day
Is soon to unfold!
I turn my face
To feel the soft rain
Gently it showers
Teasing me, to play for an hour.
As I step into the
Gentle shower
The puddles for now,
I jump over!
Knowing very well
That soon I will be splashing
As my buddies and I go dashing
Through the rain and the downpour!
Such bliss and joy
Recalling our childhood,
I missed it, while I grew
Into grumpy adulthood!
The joys of running are a plenty!
But to run in the rain,
Drenched to the soul,
Brings blessings and thrills a plenty!
Rain- Just rain!
The peacock is dancing
Out in the garden
Such a showoff!
Show stopper- behold!
The grey clouds tumultuous
Gathering in my garden
Like curious neighbours
Peeping into my kitchen!
The mere sight-
My heart and soul, does beckon.
I open the doors wide
Welcome! Welcome!
Be my guest, but abide –
My rules and requests,
For my favourite guests!
Stay, rest and reside
Not for an hour or two- but multitude!
The ginger tea is brewing
And my mother’s at her best
Frying pakoras without any rest!
Laughter follows, thunder peals,
As the aroma of pakoras prevails!
The clouds burst,
Blessing the earth,
Releasing in earthlings- joy & mirth!
